What is Renata?

Renata is a platform aimed at the public that provides certified training in basic life support and automatic external defibrillation (BLS-AED) throughout the Portuguese mainland and islands.

This initiative is intended to democratize access to training in BLS-AED, making it
easier to attend and more affordable.

This project is based on a modern technological base that simplifies and accelerates the entire training process.

What is CPR?

CPR is a sequence of steps performed
to resuscitate a victim in cardiorespiratory
arrest (CRA). It consists of recognizing
the CRA, calling 112, starting maneuvers
of cardiopulmonary resuscitation
(compressions and ventilations),
and defibrillating
quickly.

Every year around
10.000 cases of sudden
cardiac death take place in Portugal,
in which only 3% of the victims survive.
The greatest number of people must obtain
skills in BLS-AED so that we can save more
lives in our country.

MESSAGE FROM OUR COORDINATOR

Nelson Santos (RN) - Master's degree in nursing with specialization in the area of critical patient;
Nurse at the Multipurpose Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Fernando da Fonseca (2008-2018) and in the Emergency Service at the Castelo Branco Local Health Unit (since 2018);
Trainer of BLS-AED (INEM) and ACLS (American Heart Association).

Where are we?

RENATA is present in 23 cities on the Portuguese mainland and islands with courses at least once a month.

Training activities normally take place at the facilities of the District Football Associations because of the partnership between Portugal Football School, the District Associations, and Ocean Medical.
